Once you have collected the features for your map in My Places (see: Adding Items to My Places) you can add graphics to highlight them on the map.
Select the features from the the list and click Add To:
Choose Map As Callout:
To clear the graphics choose Clear Temporary Graphics from the Edit Menu.
